Convert opened back in 2009, with a mission to bring the worlds of fashion and
sustainability together. The idea was to offer men and women great
fashion options from brands that are already sustainably produced,
brands which have eco-options within their collections, or companies
willing to make a change in the way they do business.
Noting that sustainable footwear is hard to come by and comes at a
price, the good folks at Convert recently opened Convert Shoes. The footwear industry is
particularly tough on the environment, so they're really excited about
supporting shoe companies that are going against the curve and producing
shoes that leave less of a footprint, so to speak.
The result? A place to buy durable, good-looking clothes for men, women and children that side-step the inherent problems with mass-made, sweat-shop clothes. Another great opener to a conversation with our children about where the objects in our lives come from, and how we can make a difference through the ways we spend the monies we have. We can't always shop where and how we want, but we can take opportunities as they come.
Customers love them for the incredibly friendly staff, the great products with an emphasis on human rights, and - well - that they walk out with COOL STUFF they enjoy wearing. They have a particularly excellent t-shirt collection.
